Cooking: Smoked Paprika Pork kebabs

I’ve been encouraging the kid to cook and he’s developed a real flair and enthusiasm for it.  A couple of days ago we made these. Very simple to make and ridiculously moreish. They’ve been unanimously voted onto the repertoire. This is an ideal recipe to get kids involved as it involves a lot of squishing of mince!

Ingredients
750g pork mince
1 tbsp tomato puree
2 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp mixed dried herbs
1 onion finely chopped
1 clove of garlic grated/crushed

Method
Fry the onion and garlic in a little oil until onions are translucent and garlic has liquefied and coated the onions.  Allow to cool.

In a bowl,  place all the ingredients and using your hands  thoroughly combine until all mixed in.  Then add the onions.

Form into sausage shapes then grill or fry for approx 15-20 mins turning occasionally until browned and cooked through.  Allow to stand for a couple of mins.

Cut in half and serve with salad and a little grated cheddar in warm pitta breads. We also had hummus which went beautifully.
